Oh look, you’re smart enough to understand that reasoning about your ridiculous statement would undermine it. Maybe there is hope.
Oh look, you’re smart enough to understand that reasoning about your ridiculous statement would undermine it. Maybe there is hope.
Sorry what exactly is it that you don’t get? That people would show empathy and help this guy out?
Would you be able to show a picture of what you’re talking about? Not because I doubt your story or their abilities, but I’m convinced that the difference in precision would be immediately apparent. If it weren’t, we would not be scratching our heads about how these structures were built thousands of years ago.
Some people in this thread seem unaware that there really is no explanation about how these stones were so precisely cut. So when someone starts arguing about how it’s “just stacking rocks” or coming up with anecdotes to insinuate the feasibility with just some skill and persistence, it displays a lack of understanding of the issue in my opinion.
Nobody is arguing that it’s hard to stack rocks, but we are dabbling in quantum mechanics yet we have no explanation for the precision achieved in these structures. Just because it isn’t likely to be aliens or ancient wisdom from Atlantis doesn’t mean that dismissive oversimplified explanations are justified.
I see your point, thanks for the insight! Did you base your reply on the abstract or the full article, because they do specify “vegetable” oil. Also, in their defence, they not only state that they only intended to show a correlation instead of a causal effect, and even add that:
we only found the relationship between the cooking oil type and cardiovascular health in the elderly over 65 years old in China, and could not explain the reason.
Where do you get the idea that they focus only on sesame oil?

At least these idiots agree with you. Water freezes at 30% hot!
“The 100 is hot” idea is not only completely arbitrary and human centric, but also a vague personal perception. And I’m trying to be nice because it’s actually egocentric buffoonery that stems from the idea that everything revolves around us, whereas the metric scale puts people inside a measurable scientific interconnected system instead of our feelings being the center.
We as people can perceive imperial temperatures a lot better than metric.
This is entirely the result of what you’re used to and has nothing to do with the system itself.
I don’t know, lard is pretty awesome. It’s a bit of a tradition around here to keep the remains when cooking bacon, put it in the fridge and then spread it on some bread.
Well you can find quite a few scientific studies saying exactly what I’ve said. I agree that plant based oils are not all the same though.
Just one example:
3918 of those who cooked with vegetable/gingili oil had ASCVD, and 249 of those who cooked with lard/other animal fat oils had ASCVD. The prevalence of ASCVD in vegetable/gingili oil users (31.68%) was higher than that in lard/other animal fat oil users (17.46%). Compared with lard/other animal fat users, the multivariate-adjusted model indicated that vegetable oil/sesame oil users were significantly associated with a higher risk of ASCVD (OR = 2.19; 95%CI, 1.90-2.53). Our study found that cooking with lard/other animal fat oil is more beneficial to cardiovascular health in older Chinese.
Yep, also Oreos are overrated!
That’s like ejaculating on someone’s face and then working your way to foreplay. If this isn’t against the Geneva convention it should be.
People who separate anything they eat are heathens. The proper way is to stuff bits of everything on your plate in your mouth at once for the correct taste and texture sensory overload.
You can use animal fats. There’s also evidence saying they’re healthier than plant/seed based oils because they contain more saturated fats and don’t oxidize as quickly.
Crap I’ll never be able to slide that into a casual conversation.
I did not. That’s what I alluded to in my last sentence. But I believe the bigger picture is more important and that automation is a step towards getting out of consumerism, exponential growth and job creation just to keep the bar moving, which all ties in to why we’re in this situation in the first place. It allows us to reevaluate what’s important in life.
And what’s the alternative? Stopping progress and keeping menial jobs on life support just to pay people a wage is ludicrous. Automation has been replacing jobs since watermills and oxen, it is a form of liberation. The current rate will probably cause a lot of upheaval yes, but it’s a necessary evil.
Everything is becoming decentralized because it offers a fairer, more level playing field. Except in governance, where things move towards a consolidation of power under the guise of unity and progress with the net result being that the voice of the person becomes a distant cry.
That’s like blaming Jews during world war 2 for putting up resistance against their fascist rulers. It is such a mischaracterization of the situation that it is damaging to the Palestinian people.
I really don’t believe it. At some point it was even a suggested workaround to intercept requests to port 53 because the Shield or its apps were not honoring your network’s DNS configuration. Which would be similar to the pihole not being in the picture at all.
If it’s really working for you, I suggest telling the community how you’ve done it because this question pops up every other day and the answer is always the same.
That’s BS. It’s impossible for something like pihole to block ads like the ones we get on YouTube/Android tv because they are served from the same domain as the regular content and a pihole doesn’t know the difference.
The only way to block them is to run unofficial apps that replace YouTube and the likes.
That picture illustrates my point though. It’s just a wall with stacked stone, something very common to see, especially as a European. The difference with OP’s pictures is immense, and given the difference in age only makes it more puzzling.
