This is the only way I can watch them. I don’t want to waste several days watching a film a night. Give me the whole epic from start to finish in one sitting! My ADHD hyperfocus will help me power through it, as long as I have enough drinks and food prepared.

Add in The Hobbit: The Tolkien Edit at the beginning and you have a pretty full day. The Tolkien Edit is a fan edit that removes all the fluff that’s not in the books and combines the Hobbit trilogy into one 4-hr film.

I tried Tolkien edit but it didn’t sit right. Can’t recommend Maple Films edit enough though! Felt the flow was much better.

      Still too much Alfrid though.

Woah, they made a Hobbit movie! I hope they kept it to one movie, because there’s really not enough content to stretch to three and it’d turn out horribly. As long as they aren’t really dumb there’s no way it could possible be bad.

Europeans, during August: “Who the hell can just sit on the couch for 12 hours straight during the best days of Summer?”

Texan, during August: “More people than you’d think”

In my country there is a cinema chain that has a LoTR marathon each year with all the extended editions. There are surprisingly many people that come.

This is how I saw part 3 in the cinema at opening. The cinema had part 1 and 2 extended on the day leading into launch and just after midnight we watched part 3.

Not me planning a watch party where I cook and bake themed foods all day because I can quote these movies in my sleep

I recently watched the entire extended trilogy in one day at the cinema. There were only two pauses. One 15 minutes long after the first movie and one 30 minutes long after the second movie in time for dinner.

So I have done a weekend of the Saturday being all three extended Hobbit films and the Sunday being all three extended lotr films

Needless to say, I’ve got zero desire to ever do the first half again

The 2nd day was fun in spite of the first though
