As the title states. I am unable to message the moderator that deleted the Post as I am not on the same fed.
I think it’s because there’s already been a few in close succession so it might be seen as a concerted effort to promote a political position on the topic of abortion.
I’m not a mod, so this is just an idea.
Ahh that makes more sense. I’m usually browsing via Hot so I missed the others
They were either on here or [email protected]. I can’t remember. And I can’t find those posts either; they might have been deleted. Either way, the mods here might have noticed them on there and decided to nip it in the bud to prevent a political flame war here.
Again, I’m just speculating out of my ass here. Don’t really know. :)
(And yeah that makes sense. I usually browse Lemmy by New.)
Edit: Not sure I have the correct syntax for the community link above… :/
Edit 2: Fixed community link syntax. :)
Not sure I have the correct syntax for the community link above… :/
[email protected] would be the right one. If you type
!memes
(no space between the exclamation mark and keyword) there should be a small pop-up dropdown menu from which you can select the community you mean, then just click on it to let the Fediverse handle the rest of the formatting for you ;)Thank you! :)

Thank you for the info. I can’t log into Lemmy. World from a web browser or my Sync app. According to profile he’s in Ireland and probably asleep or at his age hopefully partying.
I’m just trying to understand these hidden rules. It’s not the first time I’ve bumped up against them and I didn’t think of the abortion angle. I’ll keep this in mind as it’s usually not top of mind for me.

Yeah how each instance and community handles moderation is a little different, both a benefit and curse of the federated model. Lemmy.world is most “Reddit-like” in communities and moderation philosophy.
Be sure to read the community sidebar rules and instance rules you post to if you aren’t sure. Then again, people who break the written or unwritten rules tend to have the stuff removed, warned and then banned only if they don’t knock it off.
So don’t take it too hard on yourself, especially since it seems you understand their reasoning.
As a general tip, when you do actions on other servers using your lemmy.ca account, you stay on lemmy.ca and attach things at the end e.g. https://lemmy.ca/c/[email protected] or https://lemmy.ca/u/[email protected]. That’s how you maintain your identity without giving away your username/password directly to the other sites.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: [email protected], [email protected].
Thanks bot! ^This is how on Lemmy you can let people on other servers follow links to the same community in a way that start with their server.
Similarly, @[email protected] is the correct way to do a fediverse-aware mention.
Ok this works now.
I was about to say I believe you 100% but my browser would like to have a word.
I see that you have manually changed the link to the profile with my instance instead of the one I was sent.
Here’s where I got hung up. I couldn’t log into Lemmy.world either.
Thanks again!

Was it worth the effort?
I mean, in with you on pure principle, but why bother in such a “low rent” forum? Kinda feels like trying to rescue a carrot that fell into the garbage disposal? Am I making any sense? Lol
If it was the first one no, same for the second and third, but this one is off as it seems to be about their agenda not a bunch of stupid masturbation jokes
Oh, it was that post?
I didn’t even think it was making any statement. It was just a funny meme.
I’m not surprised. In the largest meme communities there seems to be a hard line about you are and aren’t able to joke about. And it seems like that line is determined by the political views of the mods in charge.
I guess the same as it was at the old place too. Hopefully it doesn’t get too crazy here with that crap.
Shit post mods are literally Hitler, they got rid of the shidfard kid.
😉
Legendary
You should still be able to message the mods of the community even if they’re on another instance. You just can’t reply to the message because it would go straight to the bot and never be seen by anyone.
That’s what I thought but it says I’m not logged in to message him and I can’t access the thread.
You may have to do it manually by appending @“user’s instance” to their username in the “to” field if the app/site you’re using doesn’t do it automatically (or the user who made the auto message fucked up the URL).
Thanks. I just figured that out. The original link kept taking me to a lemmy.world instance that I couldn’t log into. With the manually altered one from above I could message him for the hidden rules that aren’t posted in the side bar for Shitposting. Hopefully we can get those added to the side bar too.
This was the error I first received :
