Summary

Mark Zuckerberg ended Meta’s factchecking program on Facebook and Instagram, replacing it with user-submitted “Community Notes,” similar to Twitter.

The move is part of a broader shift to the political right, aligning with Donald Trump’s incoming administration.

Zuckerberg criticized factcheckers as “politically biased” and promised fewer “censorship mistakes.”

Meta has also elevated conservatives to key roles and moved content moderation operations from California to Texas, mirroring Elon Musk’s strategies.

While the changes may alienate liberals and some advertisers, analysts expect minimal financial impact on Meta.

Let’s be honest. It’s not that Mark is a facist or whatever. It’s because the change is good for him personally, and he just doesn’t care about others. As for why it is good for him… workers in texas are cheaper, and most of the people currently on the team in Cali will quit rather than move.
