In a CNBC interview, Lutnick said the moves will push countries to re-examine their policies and provide greater access for U.S. products.

Yes. Examine how to make new alliances that exclude the US completely.

Canada will forge stronger ties with Europe. Mexico with South America. Consumers will take all manner of steps to avoid US goods and services.
