The movie about Motley Crue, “The Dirt”, which was interesting although I don’t think began to scrape the surface of their depravity, and the third season of Somebody, Somewhere, which really is a wonderful show. Every episode has been a gem. I forgot how much I love Motley Crue as horrifying as they are historically, I’m glad they got out and got sober and left us with glorious hair metal at its peak.

I cancelled whatever HBO is calling their streaming platform now and signed back up for Hulu.

Finally watching the final season of What We Do in the Shadows

Also, restarted King of the Hill for probably the third or fourth time.

Mushishi anime. It’s slow paced but I’m sure it’s building towards something.

Jonah Hex, wasn’t great but don’t regret it.

I watched Mickey 17. It didn’t deserve the hate it got; I thought it was fun and original.

Agreed. I didn’t consume many reviews until after I watched it and was confused. Did people go in expecting a different genre of movie? Something more artsy and less humorous maybe? It’s not going to win Oscars, but it is a solid adaption of the book and representative of the genre.

Catching up after a couple of weeks away, so:

The Righteous Gemstones - after an unfocussed start to the 4th and final season, it has picked up again in the second half. One more episode to go.

Sirens - the new, much vaunted miniseries, and another in the ‘aren’t rich people terrible’ genre. I have only seen the first ep so far. I will continue, but that episode didn’t really live up to the hype, IMHO.

The Eternaut - Intriguing Argentine apocalypse tale. Also only the first ep so far, but I am definitely hooked.

Murderbot - I’ve been looking forward to this one, having read the first few books. It has been cricitised for being slow, but I am enjoying it so far.

Poker Face - the return of this neo-Columbo show. It is as undemandingly entertaining as before.

Babylon Berlin - halfway through season 1 and it continues to be stylish, grim and gripping.

Your Friends and Neighbors - and another ‘aren’t rich people terrible’ tale, which is developing engagingly.

I’m watching S2 house of dragon! It’s gorgeous but slow and I can’t keep track of characters. Absolutely fucking loved the battle episode, although I watched it behind my hands. Only 2 episodes to go! Enjoying it overall

I’m nearing the end of re watching ‘Le Bureau des Legendes’ on DVD & Blu-ray.

Only series 1 on DVD has English subtitles. Then only series 2 to 5 on Blu-ray have English subtitles.

Brilliant series. Well worth your time.

“The Bureau (original title: Le Bureau des Légendes) is a French espionage thriller television series created and co-written by Éric Rochant and produced by TOP – The Oligarchs Productions and Canal+, which revolves around the lives of agents of the DGSE (General Directorate of External Security), France’s principal external security service.” Via Wikipedia.

I’m currently watching Dark, the German Netflix Original.

I think it’s probably one of the best time-travel scifi ever created.

Normally not an anime guy, but I ended up watching both seasons of Solo Leveling, and it was really good! Kind of just mindless fun, sure, but nice to have on in the background so I could look over at a cool fight if I was bored.
