Or less common opinions that you’ve been waiting for a chance to share?
Apologies if this has been asked before; I didn’t see it among recent posts and I like to hear everyone’s hot takes.

People who do porn ruin their lives.
That’s a pretty common opinion though.
It’s less popular than it once was, but I’d say it’s still the dominant take.
Is there a reason you consider it unpopular?
It’s unpopular amongst adult content connoisseurs such as ourselves. I once posted a showerthought that if everybody had their needs met, the number of people who do porn would shink overnight. I got my head torn off and downvoted to oblivion.
Porn is work and it involves significant risk or damage to one’s reputation in this society. So I am sure that few people who don’t need money would do it. But ruin their lives? That’s an exaggeration.
Yeah, there’s a very distinct group of people in the field that ruin their lives because of pornography, and those people are the kind of people who, if they weren’t doing pornography, would have found some other way to ruin their lives.
Like, maybe if the person who comes from an ultra-conservative, Christian, small town goes and does porn enough to become a worldwide name, and then tries to move back to their conservative hometown, then sure, that particular branch of their life may be ruined. But overall, their life is not ruined, it’s just altered.
Like, maybe if you want to work with children, you shouldn’t do porn, a couple of teachers have lost their jobs because they had an onlyfans on the side because teaching didn’t pay enough for them to survive, but even that is relatively easy to deal with as long as you can move to a new area and start over.
The hope is it’s changed somewhat for the better now but studio porn is an inherently exploitative and abusive industry and the performers tend not to be the mentally healthiest people to begin with but it’s certainly exacerbated by the needs of the business and has made hundreds and potentially thousands of people’s lives objectively worse.
Ruined? Majority? That’s subjective or untested, but porn has been a bad thing for many many people involved and that shouldn’t be whitewashed.
Good point
Thank you for the explanation :)
I think what I posted here kind of counts, and I’m not sure it’s ruinning my life. I even told people irl I did it…
Maybe they’re taking it as -unpopular here-
