Always something playing. Sometimes I can control it. Sometimes you just gotta submit. Sometimes you gotta play loud music to hear something else. Which leads me to realize if it ever does get quiet, I have ruined my hearing with tinnitus.

      Always something playing

Hah yes that lovely ringing sound that means I’m not listening to loud enough music! I try not to think about how bad it will likely get in another decade or two

That was such a depressing realization when I first had it… If there is an afterlife, the one thing that might make me happier than seeing my lost loved ones may be not having to hear “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” behind the themes from various TV shows and video games playing constantly in my head.

Protect your ears kids. Tinnitus doesn’t just go away. That concert you’re going to? Totally going to fuck up your hearing permanently, whether you think so or not. No, we’re not just being old. We know from experience. That shit’s louder than you think. Enjoy responsibly.

For some it helps doing sums in their head. The brain can run either the calculator or the music app. Not both at the same time.
