  • There was only one question regarding Standard Notes:

Is there an ETA for the Standard Notes implementation for Proton subscriber?

And the rep from ProtonMail replies:

Actually we’re interested in the community feedback here. There was a lot of pent up demand for Proton Docs so we prioritized getting that out first and are now focused on further improving Proton Docs. Given the choice between putting resources between further improving Proton Docs or integrating Standard Notes with Proton Accounts, it’s not exactly clear what is more valuable to the community. So unfortunately I don’t have an answer here as we haven’t internally decided yet either, but we will take on community feedback as we work for you. -Andy

The were several replies of people asking for them to prioritize integration, while a couple wanted them to focus on Docs.

  • Yeah I guess I could use KeePass for this, but it seems like it might be tedious.

My reasons for asking: I don’t want to pay for a service, I don’t want to rely a service that could shutdown (I used to use del.icio.us once upon a time), and I do want something that syncs

I’m currently using Shaarli on a cheap host, but they’re about to raise their prices drastically. Also, I’m not very tech savvy so I haven’t been able to update is since I started using it, so I kind of don’t want to deal with it anymore away.

I just checked out Floccus but I’m not sure it’ll work for me because it requires a server or additional service.

  • I guess I would say the paradox of tolerance. I’m sorry but I’m just gonna yoink the definition from Wikipedia because I’m not great at explaining things:

The paradox of tolerance states that if a society’s practice of tolerance is inclusive of the intolerant, intolerance will ultimately dominate, eliminating the tolerant and the practice of tolerance with them. Karl Popper describes the paradox as arising from the fact that, in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must retain the right to be intolerant of intolerance.

Bonus least favorite paradox: You need experience to get a job and you need a job to get experience.
