      Reminds me of that memorable day I nearly knocked myself out shooting a .357 magnum. Good thing I wore a helmet.

        That was me with a 30-06 as a teen. I had only shot .22LR before then, and didn’t hold on nearly tightly enough. I got a nice ring on my forehead from the scope…

        We all need to learn to respect larger calibers at some point, that was mine.

          Honestly, it takes surprisingly little recoil to do damage.

          My dad managed to split his eyebrow with a little .177 BSA 12ftlb air rifle.

          He didn’t think and rested the scope against his eyebrow; was a blunt, cresent shaped cut. Certainly a good way to learn what not to do

            I split my eyebrow with a .22 lr doing the same thing. Glad I learned the lesson on that before my first time firing a .308 or 30-06
