Original reporting by the Globe & Mail is behind a paywall. In any case, it’s not a good look for Poilievre that India boosted his candidacy and then he wouldn’t get security clearance to be informed of this fact.

If Squinty McProudboy becomes PM, he’ll need his security clearance anyway and still can’t talk about certain things. How is that different from now? Literally every other political leader has their clearance and hasn’t been silenced. He’s such a fucking weasel. How can anyone believe a word he says?

If he becomes PM, he just ‘gets’ security clearance.

My understanding is that it’s required as the PM, and no PM has ever been denied due to the screening process.

Not a Con here, but it does seem shady that he’s not in the know about anything and doesn’t want his ties publicized.

Oh, I agree but he still can’t talk about details. He only wants to talk details when he’s opposition, not when PM. Total weasel move.

Everyone gets to decide what we talk about. PM is no different. Pierre just can’t lie about something that has been made aware of.

There’s non disclosure rules if you aren’t the one deciding what is and isn’t secret, don’t play dumb. Fucking CSIS agent letting the globe and mail see what Poilievre couldn’t is election interference.

CSIS has the same rules for all leaders. So no, it’s not election interference. Go cry elsewhere.

Someone illegally released a report, to a person with no security clearance, from three years ago about a failed attempt at vote manipulation, 3 days into an federal election and you seriously think it’s not an influence attempt? Guess you weren’t playing dumb.

I’ve been asking for years why our opposition party leader refuses to get a security clearance, or even attend briefings that Justin Trudeau had to ask CSIS to rewrite the rules of so he could also be briefed. The “liberals don’t want me speaking freely!” excuse is starting to piss me off. What’s the actual reason Pierre? Too afraid to see how foreign interference might affect your party and instead want to plug your ears about it? Or is it he just can’t get one and this speaking freely stuff just happens to be a convinient excuse? Either way, I don’t buy his reasoning as being legitimate.

Being in the opposition: It allows him to say whatever he wants

Becoming PM: He gets briefed without needing it

      Pretty strategic on his part…

Yeah, not a valid excuse in my mind. It shows a disturbing lack of responsibility/accountability.

pp sure is getting a lot of foreign support, probably explains his refusal to get a security clearance. I got a security clearance to do work in police stations and evidence lockups, its very painless

Ah, that’s why he refused to get security clearance!

What a scumbag. This should disqualify him from holding any position in office.

“Indian agents attempted to influence an election” says a CSIS agent attempting to influence an election.

The CSIS is trying to keep an election clear of foreign interference. It’s literally the opposite of your shit-take.

Bullshit, they released a non issue from years ago 3 days into a campaign. The Indian attempt wasn’t successful, and was CSIS’s job to control, not Poilievre’s.
