Side note. Repo and Non-Accident related towing are both extremely confrontational and potentially violent industries. I think I’d rather shovel shit than do those.

It’s time to make towing a government agency run by the province. When you have firebombings and gun battles, your private industry cedes the opportunity.

Also, when I think Mafia in Ontario, I think construction.

Ironically, moving power from one Mafia family to another. LOL

But seriously, if an industry is being dominated by organized crime, the government needs to remove those opportunities.

It’s the job of the government to fight organised crime. That sounds like a huge failure of government.

Some snowplows can be similar around here.
Like company X won’t take a contract with you because you were previously with company Y and they don’t wanna be targeted by their goons or whatnot.
Both companies offer shit service anyway because they hire goons instead of people who actually deal with the snow.

Doesn’t happen too much with residential services, but the ones doing big companies parking lots can get sketchy.

In some places it was already corrupt in the 1990s, and just steadily got worse since then.
